Bookmark Issue with Technocracy Reloaded Hardcover rewards

Hello Agents & Operatives,
Most of the Onyx Path kickstarter projects I've been involved with have gone off without a hitch. This one, unfortunately, doesn't fall into that category. For whatever reason, the Technocracy Reloaded campaign seemed to generate a lot of Paradox as we got closer to the end (and not the positive kind that owns the World of Darkness property).
The seeds seemed to be planted last year when we had to delay our lockdown process because Covid and supply shortages had massively impacted the printing industry, and that anti-magick push back seemed to stay with us right through production. Rich talks a bit about it in his latest Monday Meeting Notes blog, which discusses Onyx Path's history of kickstarter edition books right up through the challenges of the past few months.
Basically, the printer missed a step during the production of the Technocracy Reloaded book and the ribbon bookmark that was set up to be bound in... was not. It's especially frustrating because this happened at the same time that the printer was producing five other books for Onyx Path, including the World of Darkness: Ghost Hunters book which also had a bound-in ribbon bookmark, all without issue.
It's unfortunate, it's frustrating, and it just sucks. And in this new era where you've got to wait a year or more for a slim print window to open up, there's unfortunately not much that can be done about it at this point.
The printer apologized for the error and sent along the ribbon bookmarks - loose - with the finished books to our fulfillment partners at Studio 2. It's a suboptimal solution, but the only one that's was available, and the idea was to include a loose ribbon bookmark in with each book shipped out.
As Rich noted in his blog, Studio 2 has done a great job getting this wave of six projects to backers, and in fact were running about 2 weeks ahead of my expected timeline. They were actually far enough ahead that I didn't find out about the bookmark issue until after the domestic US orders had already shipped out.
So, here we are in unfortunate circumstances with a solution that's not ideal, but as we've all learned over the past few years, you can only work with what you've got. Which leaves a box of ribbon bookmarks at Studio 2 for any domestic US backer who missed out and would like to receive one.
It'll be a manual process for me over the next several months, but basically if you're interested in one of these ribbons, I can either include it in an upcoming order (if you've got a pending Onyx Path kickstarter hardcover), or I can get Studio 2 to mail it out to you.

STRETCH GOAL REWARDS STILL PENDING
For our final rewards, the Operative's Dossier PDF is being corrected and updated based on the feedback you've provided. Once that's done, they'll get a test printing of the PoD, and then Onyx Path will release both the finalized PDF and Print-on-Demand version on DriveThruRPG. As soon as it's ready, I'll send out purchase links for the PoD at a discounted price.
The Digital Wallpaper will be finished and out soon, and the novella anthology is now working through first draft stage.
I will continue to post an update each month until those final Stretch Goal rewards have gone out.

Hello Agents & Operatives,
I know it's been just over a week since our March Month End update, but I wanted to send an update on shipping status out to let you know where we are on distribution of the hardcover rewards.
I had noted in our last update that I expected all orders to be out by the end of April, but it looks like all orders will actually be out by the end of this week!
That's right - all domestic US orders have left the warehouse, and all remaining international orders are set to be picked up on Friday!
TRACKING INFORMATION
As a reminder from last month, your tracking information may take a few days to update at any given time, so you may see "Pre-Shipment" as it filters out to the various shipping agencies, but it should update as it travels and eventually delivers to you.
Again: You'll have your tracking numbers sent via the e-mail provided to Backerkit, and shortly thereafter, you will also be able to access your Tracking number in Backerkit by reviewing your Order Confirmation.
The Technocracy Reloaded page should look similar to this.
Your BackerKit Confirmation page has:

One other quick note: In the emboss/cover stamping process, a few dozen books at the top of the stack ended up getting some ink smudging from the belt that carries the books through the process. (*I'm pretty sure this isn't a technical term). The shipping staff caught most of these and were able to clean them off before sending them out, but I've heard there may be a handful that were packed up before they were caught.
The good news is that this isn't a permanent issue - the ink wasn't printed on, just transferred over a bit during the process, so can be wiped off with a damp cloth and a bit of effort.

Anyway, not a huge issue and not affecting many shipments at all, but just wanted to let you know not to panic and it should be a pretty easy fix. 99% of backers won't even know what I'm talking about here, so carry on!

We're closing in on the final days of March, which is good news for kickstarter backers, because our kickstarter hardcover rewards for Technocracy Reloaded will be shipping in April!
TECHNOCRACY RELOADED SHIPPING INFO
All orders for the hardcover book that were confirmed by Jan 27, paid for by Feb 16, and had delivery destinations confirmed by Feb 23 are now been picked, packed, and will shipped out over the month of April.
TRACKING INFORMATION
The first step in the order prep process is to print out an address label and a pick slip - these two items are linked together so the warehouse knows what to ship and where it's being shipped to. This means that a tracking number will be assigned to your order BEFORE it gets shipped from the warehouse, possibly even a week or two before your items are boxed up and scheduled to be picked up by the courier partner.
So, for the first week or two in April, you may see a note that the shipping label is "created, but not yet in system" - which just means that the warehouse is currently in the process of putting the orders together. You'll be able to see when your order is indeed shipped, and track it's progress as it travels to you.
Normally, US backers would start seeing deliveries a week or two after the orders have left the warehouse, but the strain on delivery infrastructure during this pandemic has a cascading effect that's just slowing all processes down. That's also affecting tracking updates - but, I'm told, information should catch up as packages move through the system.
Once the bulk of the orders have left the warehouse, you will (*should*) get an e-mail with Tracking Information.
Your tracking information may take a few days to update at any given time, so you may see "Pre-Shipment" as it filters out to the various shipping agencies, but it should update as it travels and eventually delivers to you.

For the most part, all order info and shipping info is now locked. However, there are a handful of Brazilian backers who haven't included their CPF number alongside your name in your shipping information. As you know, it's expensive to ship to Brazil from the US, and any missing information will cause the shipment to be rejected or possibly destroyed at the border, so let's avoid any possible issues in this shipping process. I'll reach out one final time before order processing to try to catch these final few orders.
TRACKING YOUR ORDERS ONCE THEY'VE SHIPPED
As noted in this update, it may take a week or two in April before your orders goes out, and up to 48 hours for Tracking Information to update as it leaves the warehouse. That said, tracking your packages - especially for international orders - can provide great assistance in solving minor issues before they become major issues.
International Shipping costs continue to climb - that's an understatement - and every sign points to additional costs coming throughout 2022, so it's pretty important that we avoid any re-ships or additional shipping charges as much as possible. And that's where your help can really come in handy.
I've dealt with several situations where shipments were marked as "delivered" but the backer hadn't checked the tracking information for months, unaware that the package had been sitting at a neighbor's house or stuck in a local postal facility.
So, please, check your tracking number over the next few weeks. If you haven't received your package by, let's say May 7, review the tracking number to see where the issue might be.
Again, it may take a few days for any status updates to appear, and depending on the country and carrier, each package may enjoy a different transit time. But if we're into May, let's see if we can sort out any delivery issues while everything's still fresh.
For example, if Package status indicates it was delivered but you never received it
Double-check your Backerkit CONFIRMATION PAGE (as detailed above) that the correct address was provided, and maybe check with your neighbors to make sure it wasn’t accidentally left there. If that doesn’t turn up anything, contact the carrier or your local post office to report the package as not received and please contact me using the Contact Creator button on kickstarter to let me know you didn’t get your order.
I've seen so many orders sitting in a local post office for 8 weeks while the recipient was left unaware that it was waiting. Additionally, other backers have solved issues almost immediately with a quick call to FedEx and providing their tracking number.
It's a HUGE help to me and Onyx Path if we can solve any wayward shipment or stuck orders in April, rather than waiting until the summer when shipping systems finally give up delivery attempts and return the items to our fulfillment partner (at an extra cost to Onyx Path). Let's avoid paying for multiple return shipments if we can! Thanks for your help in advance.
Also, if you have any issues with your shipment or books, do not panic! As we've all done for the past few years, we will get through this. It may take a bit to sort, but I'll do my best to make sure everyone gets their rewards.
After printing and manufacturing delays that shifted the 2021 schedule around a lot, Onyx Path is in the process of catching up on 6 projects, and making great progress. Of those, Technocracy Reloaded is by far the biggest, with the greatest number of different packages and ship locations, so it will take a big chunk of April to get through it all, but we will get there. It's magick!
Since our last update, I've also been tweaking the format for our Pending Rewards listing. Now that we've got one final Stretch Goal reward to go, it won't be as impressive, but at least we'll have a visual representation of how things are coming along.
STRETCH GOAL REWARDS STILL PENDING

A few final Stretch Goal rewards to go. The Digital Wallpaper shouldn't be too much longer now that all of the big items are shipping. Our novella anthology is still in the earliest stages, where writers are assigned and contracted. The Operative's Dossier backer PDF was sent out just a few weeks ago. Onyx Path is now using your feedback and suggestions to revise and correct that file, which will then be used for indexing and generating text proofs before it gets released as a print-on-demand product. Once it's all approved and ready, we'll send out discount order codes in case you want to purchase it. So, close, but still tweaking those final bits.

Hello Agents & Operatives,
As detailed in our most recent Month End Update, we're still a bit away from having the final hardcover rewards shipped out. There's a few pieces yet to deliver to the fulfillment house (though everything's en route), but the shipping backlog caused by the delays from 2021 have got all of the warehouse staff pushing hard to catch up.
Since our update, we've processed most of the outstanding BackerKit payments and locked in shipping information (it took me a couple tries to get it all secured!), so we'll be ready to go once everything lines up. My guess right now is that our books will be going out around the end of April, but I'll update more as that schedule firms up.
Basically, there's no change since our last update and everything's still on track to deliver by our initially projected May 2022 date, which is something of a miracle given the past few years.
BUT ENOUGH ABOUT ALL OF THAT, LET'S TALK ABOUT ANOTHER REWARD!
During the campaign, we had a series of Stretch Goals that added supplemental material to cover some additional topics related to our TechnocracyReloaded book. Stuff like this...
Well, those sections were outlined for the Companion, which eventually got titled the M20 Operative's Dossier! And today is the day that it gets sent out to you!
M20 OPERATIVE'S DOSSIER
For five centuries the Ascension War has pitted the Enlightened against Reality Deviants. Bloodshed and horror from this conflict have nearly torn the world apart on a number of occasions. In the hopes of creating a safe environment and shepherding the Masses to Ascension, the Technocratic Union has used colonialism, conditioning, and violence to bring their vision of a unified Reality to fruition. At the dawn of the 21st Century it appeared as if victory was within the Union’s grasp, but Control failed to consider one major factor in the War for Reality: The Masses.
Now as anti-science sentiment, climate change, misguided nationalism, and plague threaten the very fabric of Reality, the Union must swallow its pride and seek new alliances. Failure to meet this challenge ends with the Technocratic Union in a dominant role over a broken, dead world. The Technocracy has come to understand that humanity’s destruction is imminent. The Union lacks the tools to save humankind on its own. Thus, new alliances must be formed.
The Operative’s Dossier includes:
Digital Web 3.0: New rules for accessing the Digital Web in the 21st Century, including the introduction of Augmented Reality.
Mission Statements: A collection of story hooks that can be dropped into an existing Chronicle or serve as the basis for an all new Technocracy story.

Unlikely Allies: Guidelines for inter-faction play, incorporating mages of the Council of Nine, The Disparate Alliance, and the Unaligned in your Technocracy campaign.

This is the first version of M20 Operative's Dossier to be released. The design and development teams have done their best to proofread and correct any errors and typos - but some always sneak through. If you catch any typos, incorrect math, visual glitches, and the like, we want to hear about them and correct them before we send the book off to print.
With that in mind, I'd like to introduce the M20 Operative's DossierFeedback Form!
They are aware of the Page XX notations - those are left in to replace for the final version once any changes you've suggested are made, so they can reference the correct page if any shifts in layout result.
Generally, they try to keep errata collection open for the next 2 weeks, although it may be accessible a little bit longer due to the chaotic nature of the world we're in now. Still, please report what you can as soon as possible to make sure we're getting everything covered.
They won't be collecting errata from other spots, just this specific form.
After any needed corrections are made (based on your feedback!), we will prepare an updated final PDF version of the book and you will receive a notice from DrivethruRPG that you can re-download your file with the latest version.

Quick note on schedules and timelines
There's a lot going on - Onyx Path has SIX PROJECTS all finally catching up - all happening around the same time, so there will be lots of moving parts and potential issues. Right now, we're looking at each project taking 2-3 weeks to completely fulfill, so that could be about 3 months of process for these six releases. For Technocracy Reloaded, I'm hoping that everything will be out by the start of May, but that's predicated on everything running as smoothly as possible with no unforeseen issues. Whatever happens, I'll work with our fulfillment partners to get everything out as quickly as manageable. The delivery side of this may be an ongoing project, but we'll get there! Don't worry - we'll have lots of opportunities to make sure we're set up for success as long as the external factors all cooperate.
